Splinter Cell: Conviction Not Possible on PS3?
MyGen has done us all a great favor, translating the original Finnish magazine article that showed us the first screens of the upcoming Splinter Cell: Conviction. Now, what normally would just be a regular game premiere article in a magazine turned into something else entirely. Something that lucky Fins heard before the rest of us.
According to UbiSoft, Splinter Cell: Conviction would NOT be possible on the Playstation 3. They went on to say that the fact that this is a 360 exclusive allows them to do things that they couldn’t otherwise do if they went multiplatform, even going so far as to say that they don’t believe they could achieve with the PS3 what they can on the Xbox 360.
Ouch.
Some other details from the article include:
~You’ll no longer rely on sneaking in the shadows. Instead, now you’ll be blending in with crowds, and how you act will determine if people become suspicious of you.
~Practically every object in the game is usable by Sam as a weapon.
~The combat system is more in-depth than the typical, Spider-Man 3-esque button-smashing melee. The environmental interaction, as well as context-sensitive controls.
~As per every other game to ever be released, they claim their AI is also improved.
