Saints Row 2 announced
If you know anything about me, you know that for the longest time I was singing the praises of Saints Row on the Xbox 360. Sure, it was a GTA rip-off in every facet, but you know what? It was the best GTA rip-off, and even added it’s own flavor to make it seem almost original. The announcement was made during a conference call with THQ, where it was also revealed that the PS3 version of Saints Row has been canned so they can focus all their efforts on the as-yet-untitled sequel.
Details about the actual game itself are scarce at the moment, with THQ only saying that Saints Row 2 would, quote, “utilize Volition’s proprietary open-world engine and deliver an all-new cross-platform gaming experience.”
For those of you who never played the original Saints Row, you missed out on a hell of a game. It was highly praised by critics, and has even become a Platinum Hit for the 360. Hell, if this little site had been around when the game was released, it would’ve gotten a 4 1/2 out of 5. Game Rankings averages the original Saints Row out at 82%, in case you want to play the numbers game.
