Mysterious BioShock Update
So you booted up BioShock on your 360 in the past hour or so to find that you had to download an update. Seeing no other choice, you go ahead and initiate the download, and now you’re trying to figure out exactly WHAT the update was for.
Well, 2K isn’t saying. At least, not yet. Many speculate that it may be a fix for the widescreen issues. However, there are no new options to fix anything that I can find.
Considering some of the questionable decisions 2K has made over the past week, it wouldn’t surprise me if 2K somehow found a way to tie copies of BioShock to your Xbox 360, thus making it impossible to play your copy of the game at your friends house.

I just finally finished through the game on hard mode, now im on my second round going through the game following a different moral path.
I will throw my copy on eBay out of my pure beliefs that companies need to stop screwing us consumers by tying a game to just one machine (why do consumers take it?!?). Not saying that this is what the update is, just speculating.

Ho can they do that? What about rentals? If this was true, then Blockbuster would be up the creek and might as well give me a pretty good discount.

I hope you are joking about the tied to console thing. There is no way in hell that 2K is stupid enough to try something like that with all the recent bad press, plus I suspect that Microsoft’s license model for the 360 prevents it. And as was already pointed out it would lock out the rental business.
I’ve heard that the update is to fix the momentary freezing issue that some people (including me) have had.

*sigh* Yes, people — it’s a joke. I told a ha ha.
We do that here.

Well, I’m not happy about the update - I dunno about the rest of you, but ever since the “update” the video is chopping or “sticks” for a second or two before things smooth out. And it happens quite often whereas before the update the video was smooth as glass. It’s almost like lag if you were in a multi-player situation.
Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Hmm, maybe I’m not crazy - hope this helps!
