Ryu has a bigger Sprite than you do

Look at that above image. Ryu is lookin’ pretty damn crisp, isn’t he? Yeah, that’s the way he’ll look in the new HD version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, which I’ll refer to simply as Street Fighter 2 for the remainder of this article because I will be damned if I get pulled into Capcom name trap like so many others!

If the Ryu sprite seen above looks familiar, it’s because the artwork for the new sprites was create by the same people who do the Street Fighter comic books, UDON. They also do the Darkstalker comic books, which I love because Morrigan… yeah. Moving on.

I love seeing this, although I’m sure some of the Street Fighter purists will have SOMETHING to say about it. The purists always do. If they can update the animations to be on the same par as the sprite artwork you see above, tey could very well revive the 2D Fighter.

Yeah, I said it — because the 2D fighter is dead. You Guilty Gear folks are living in the past! Now I’ll be sitting over there, waiting for the hate mail.
