Titan XFan: Buy It SOON!
It goes without saying that the Xbox 360 gets hot. By hot, I mean damn hot. Certainly hot enough to give you the red ring of death. And in the past there have been many methods companies have tried to come up with to combat this problem. The most famous of these is the colossal piece of junk, the Nyko Intercooler. Why is the Intercooler junk, you ask? Well, the Intercooler is a piece of trash because it can interrupt the power flow to your Xbox 360. That’s what happened with me — After about a month, I would get the single red light flashing every time I booted the machine up. Not to mention that the Intercooler was just plain LOUD AS ALL HELL.
Well, the Taiwan company Titan may have the answer in the Titan XFan for the Xbox 360. As you can see above, the XFan is powered by the Xbox 360 via the USB port. The great thing here is that the plug-in for the XFan also has a USB slot, so you don’t actually lose a USB port. Now, many of you I’m sure are worried about your Xbox consoles going kaput on you. Every time I turn mine on, I fear for my console’s life.
While the other fans on the market today, the Nyko Intercooler and the Pelican Cooler (neither of which work very well), already do what the XFan does, the XFan does have two keen differences that you should take note in: This fan runs significantly quieter than either of the previous external fans currently available for the Xbox 360, and it uses a lot less power than the previous fans. Oh, and it looks a lot sharper. Now, I know that most of you don’t really care about looks, but the idea of having a green backglow against my wall while I play with all the lights off is just a cool idea.
Look, I will give this product a full review once it is released, but I can already see in the numbers alone that this will be the top of the cooling mountain once it is finally released.
And no — no price tag has been released yet.
