Medal of Homer - The New Simpsons Game Brings Teh Funny
Sometimes, a video is enough for a post, this is one of those times, our spanish brethren Juegos ( -->Xbox666 -->) has posted a video that I just had to share as well. Instead of the usual ads of a game showing various split scenes of action, The Simpsons just went ahead and did a parody of war video games. From what I understand, a lot of the game itself is going to be parodies of other video games as well, and with the last Simpsons title, “Hit & Run” being a pretty good game, im actually really looking forward to this new title.

If you want to compare the quality of Medal of Homer vs Call of Duty 4, since they are basically the same thing, look no further than below:

That video pretty much pisses me off. I love the Simpsons, and there parodies and jokes are good sometimes, but you don’t make fun of World War 2. Plain and simple. I find it offensive.

[...] Simpsons Game Draws Response by Richard Ristow Comedian Al Franken once wrote a book called “Lies and The Lying Liars Who Tell Them.” The cover of the book featured Vice President Cheney, President Bush, Ann Coulter, and very splotchy looking Bill O’Reilly. Fox News’ legal department took grave offense, and they responded to Franken with a lawsuit, which was subsequently laughed out of court. Satire, you see, is a protected part of free speech. But, that doesn’t change one fundamental dynamic. People either laugh at the satire, or they get really, really made. In this regard, the new Simpson’s Game has made some people in the gaming industry livid. The purpose of the game, while giving a player of their Springfield fix, is to poke fun at other successful games, like Everquest,Guitar Hero, and Medal of Honor. [...]
