CONFIRMED: Xbox 360 Trade-In Deal!

In a story that was FIRST reported here at Xbox 360 Rally, it’s now been confirmed that Gamestop will indeed have a special trade-in deal for your current Xbox 360 system!

Xbox 360 Premium: $250
Xbox 360 Core: $200
Xbox: $50

Yes, you even get fifty bones for your original Xbox. Pretty awesome, isn’t it? I think so — and I know for a fact that I’ll be buying an Xbox 360 Elite, so this works out great for me.

And remember… for once, you actually DID hear it here first. ;) (Too bad none of those other Xbox sites are giving proper credit. Douchebags)

    XBox Premium $400 - Trade In $250 + XBox Elite $480 = $630! Congrats, you just paid the $600 PS3 price you said you’d never spend. $UCKERS!! :-)

    Actualy less the $150 on the XBox rebate that is not given back and the $230 you will spend to get the Elite is a grand total of $860 to Microsoft. $400 - $250 = ($150 to Microsoft) then that $250 (which you never actualy see) + $230 = $480 which gets the Eilte all = $860 To Microsoft. Or is my math WAY off here hmm?

    ummmmm… lets try that again: XBox Prem $400 + XBox Elite $480 = $880 total cost for both. You have $250 in Trade In Gift Card, leaving $630 that comes out of your pocket to buy 2 XBox’s in less than 2 yrs. Since when does the Next Generation last 6 months?!

    The Elite is a nice option to have. Would you be happier if it just didn’t exist? Its not required to play games. Its not required to do anything at all that your 360 was advertised with when you bought it. The new one has a bigger HD, and native 1080p support. Again not required. I think its a great option, and applaud them for giving us this option. To bad we didn’t have it back in 2005, but then again, my 70″ Sony didn’t see the need to put an HDMI port on it back in 2005 either. When I buy a new TV i’ll buy a new XBOX-if i decide 1080p and a new HD is that important. Again the elite is an option, not a requirement.

    A few sites reported it last week when GS employees confirmed it.

    How will they handle the hd when you trade in your premium? I guess you should trade in after you get home and copy it to the new xbox elite?
