“Game Fuel” Mountain Dew now Available

Ever since the earliest days of Atari and Colecovision, Mountain Dew has been the unofficial soft drink/life fluid of gamers who wanted to blow through a 100-hour game in one sitting. Mountain Dew’s success in the gamer market has been strong enough for Coca-Cola to TWICE try to mimmick it (Vault, and the defunct SUUUUURRRRRRRGE!), but none of the major soft drink companies have yet to topple the crowned caffeine king, Mountain Dew.

…except Bawls. Bawls rules. But I digress.

A while back Major Nelson posted some images on his Flickr account from a Halo 3 party. At this party we saw some close-ups of the Halo 3 Zune (sexy), and the Halo 3 Legendary Edition helmet. But we also got a couple of snapshots of the new Mountain Dew “Game Fuel” flavor, which comes in a custom Halo 3 can.

Well, it’s now out for public consumption, and you know what? …it’s tastes like Limewire. Actually, it tastes like Limewire and Cherry 7UP, but more Limewire from what I could taste.

If you’re wondering how this “Game Fuel” differs from normal Dew, all I can say is… if you’ve ever had Mountain Dew AMP, it gives you that same kind of kick.
