Today starts episode one of the Lionhead diaries. It is available on their own site, along with the Xbox Live Marketplace. Throughout the series of videos, they will take and answer questions from fans, as well as be showing unreleased gameplay footage. With any luck this will be a short delay. People enetering the Beta through other methods - Friends and Family, Rule of Three and so on, are unaffected.

Yes, you read that right, Friends and Family, Rule of Three and so on.. are safe. Even I have done my “Towel Trick” three times just to get in one game of the Beta. And man, it is good. I need to of course get used to the controls, but now when playing, there is just a whole other level to Halo, great strategy mixed with complete chaos.

Now that the important part is out of the way. The game seems to be a 2-D side-scrolling space shooter (Contra fans come out of hiding). Up to 4 players can play at once. Hey, its a free game, check it out!. Thanks to xbox360fanboy for making me aware of this (among a few other blogs).

For all of you GR:AW 2 fans out there, you may have heard about the new downloadable content that was released for the game recently. Well, if you are still hesitant about whether or not to pick it up, this video may sell you on all of it. As for the content itself, it goes for a cool 800 MS Points. Not bad for seven maps.

Reset Gangs.
Easier Orb Hunting (Sounds to help you hear when you are near)
Ground Strike (A new move!)
Improved firing over low walls.
Targeting enhancements.
Those damn fire hydrants!: The fire hydrants were near indestructible but were also hard to spot. Now, though still best avoided, they can be smashed over for a far less unreasonable penalty.
Stunt Rings are now much easier to locate.
Persisting Charges & Mines: Limpet Charges (and the new Proximity Mines) will persist at all times within the game world and not just when within a certain range of the player.

This Thursday, all you Gears freaks are in for a treat. Epic Games has announced that four new maps are ready for download, and will be available for you all for 800 MS Points starting Thursday. Those four maps are…

Blood Marsh: A single, old generator powers the lights around a Kryll-infested swampland. Should a few bullets from an untrained n00b strike the generator, you are left to fend for yourselves against the Kryll.

Subway: Locusts fill the tunnels of the once great Central Subway of Timgad.

Process: Teams fight against each other for control of this subterranean processing plant.

Garden: An overgrown and crumbling conservatory that still has a working fertilization and pesticide system. If you do not shut the fertilization systems down, you would be wise to not breathe.

Major Nelson brought a bit of sunshine into our dark world today, when he announced on his blog that the new Hero and Villain packs for Marvel Ultimate Alliance are, at last, on the marketplace. Individually, each set runs for 500 MS Points, but combined they only cost you 800 MS. And if you don’t already know, here’s what you get with the two packs:

Look at that screenshot right there. Yeah, pretty, isn’t it? Well, that’s a screenshot a developer posted of the upcoming Crackdown download that will be soon available on Xbox Live. This screenshot implies that, at the very least, the download will give us a new vehicle, and at most, a whole new type of gameplay to add a little longevity to the impressively popular title.
