Xbox 360 Live Cam Bundle Purchase that is Worth a Gander
Im pulling out an oldie, but a goodie. The jist of this deal is, if you are about to re-new your 12 month subscription to Xbox Live, or don’t mind paying early, here is what’s included: The Live Vision Video Camera - Uno - Robotron 2084 - 200 Xbox Live Arcade Points - 12-Month Subscription to Xbox Live Gold - Extra Headset - And an extra game from the Marketplace that they don’t even tell you about. Now, we all know the normal price of a 12-Month Xbox Live subscription is $50. Well, for $16 more, you are getting the cam, the games, the arcade points. Thing is, Amazon seems to be the only one that gets this price, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc, still sell it at the retail $80.
Read down to see the details of what you get
The camera, it does its purpose. Make a custom avatar that others with cams can see.. or.. play. This also works on PC’s and even Mac’s as a regular vid cam. Right now, I must admit not a lot of games support it.
Uno, not a bad game, tons of people have their live vision cams turned on, giving you the impression that a lot of people use the cameras, but, its only Uno players. Xbox and other developers seem to not care to implement this as a feature in more games (where it could just be that nice added bonus to show the customers they .. you know.. care and stuff).
Robotron 2084, possibly the worst game I have ever played. Get ready to get about 4 or 5 super easy achievements, then never play again because the rest are impossible to get. I think I can somewhat compare this game to the worst graphics version of Geometry Wars and also minus out fun too.
The 200 Xbox Live Arcade points, a nice bonus to the set, not enough to buy a game, but enough to help get a theme/avatar set or something.
12-Month card. Oh the fun of trying to use this was great (*sarcasm*). Every time I would input it, it would give some error code. Then I went to the Xbox forums, which isn’t much help at all, though I did find some posts with similar errors. I placed a call to Microsofts 800 number, told them the code, and to my surprise, the problem was fixed in under 20 minutes. Maybe I was a unique case, either way, they did handle the problem.
I have nothing good or bad to say about Totemball. It is made strictly for the Live Cam, and I’m too lazy to try it out. I did download it at least. Either way, hey, free game.
Last and not least, an extra headset. I am probably the few that is a little messy and has broken my headsets more than once, the one I got out of this bundle is my back up, right now I use one of those made from heaven Platronics (they make a good product.
So depending on if your renewing Xbox Live is coming up or you love bundles, I have to give this a 7.2 out of 10
